Why Does Education Matter in Sub-saharan Africa?
The African continent is known for its depth and breath of natural resources, the multicultural diversity and the youth of its population, and many more features. However, the continent has remained economically weak despite the availability of its young demographic. The African continent has been classified as one of the poorest in the world. The Democratic Republic of Congo, The Republic of Zambia, The Republic of Malawi, and many other countries are not spared by the endless cycle of poverty.
Investing in people is the way out of poverty. Education is the tool that can help the people of the African continent live a better life. Education is considered as the means, perhaps the only means to improving the lives of hundreds of millions of Africans.
This endeavor requires endurance and commitment over a long period of time. To build a new generation requires exactly the same amount of time it takes for a generation to mature: twenty to thirty years.
It is feasible to turn around the fate of the continent with proper investment in early childhood, elementary and secondary education.
Thank you for your interest and contribution to improving the lives of children in Sub-saharan Africa, by improving the conditions of teaching and learning for all.
